Actually if I could give zero stars, I would. We dealt with two separate agents at this location and both were utterly atrocious at their jobs, but for completely different reasons. One was for finding us a permanent home (Tonya Cannon) and the other was our contact for a temporary rental while we conducted our search (Karen Marsh). Neither of them seemed to do any work what-so-ever to accommodate our needs. We were promised a multitude of things by Karen to improve the property that we ended up regrettably blind renting from out of necessity. She claimed it was the best she could offer, but soon after we got here I looked in the local swap paper and there were literally dozens of other options with a good portion of them seeming to be considerably better choices for our needs. She had gotten someone to the property to fix our initial complaints, but after we moved in there was absolutely nothing done that we asked. Even worse, the people that she had show up cleared out some random crap that had been sitting around and something had gotten broken. The cleaning people blamed it on us and it quickly became a point of contention, I resolved the issue, but I am certain that Karen still thinks that we had broken it and those responsible got away with it cleanly. She actually said to me "I have known her for years and she would never lie to me". Clearly she did lie to you and she probably does all the time, so when you inevitably read this, know that your cleaning lady and her husband are lairs and there have likely been a lot more instances than this that she has lied to you. Anything that we had asked to get done was promised then promptly forgotten. Not that any of it was a life and death concern, but the lack of consideration and respect showed through blatantly. Considering that, I am certain Karen hates men. She showed open disdain for me every time I was in her presence, no matter how respectful and friendly I was to her and even with my wife in the room she could not control her obvious unwarranted dislike for me. She made it a point on more than a few occasions to let us (me specifically) know that she had to run her husband (or boyfriend) out for a variety of reasons including drug abuse and being a lazy lout, all the while pointedly staring at me as if I was going to produce a crack pipe right there in front of her and light it up. If we would have had any other choice and not been trapped in a contract with her I would have told her off right then and there in an obscenely acute manner, but she had us in a tough spot, so I endured her thinly veiled but clearly bigoted abuse for my wife's sake. Over all, she comes off as a hateful, cantankerous, spiteful, and all around malevolent individual that pours such putrescence into her environment she undoubtedly poison everyone around her with her vial personality and obviously rancorous opinions. Tonya not as bad, but ridiculously unprofessionally lazy. She never provided us with a single property to look at over the course of about three weeks, so we simply went to the Century 21 further down Lamar just outside the loop and got an agent there. That turned out to be the best decision we made since getting here.
I recently rented a home through Century 21 Parker Harvey and Tonya McMikel-Cannon. She was absolutely horrible to work with!! She rented the home with no working smoke/CO detectors. It took 4 months of me complaining before she had one installed. She refused to repair a leaking roof during the year I lived in the home. She does not understand tenant rights under Texas law and worst of all tried to make me pay several thousand dollars to cleanup trees damaged by the ice storm in December 2013. I would avoid this office at all costs! There are several awesome realtors in Paris but, this is not one of them! Dont say I didnt warn you!!!!
This is a company to avoid like the plague. I sent a simple question by email and they insisted I set up an online account which of course put a TRACKING COOKIE on my PC so they could steal all types of information regarding where I went on the internet, who my bank is if I used online banking, and all kinds of other information that is NONE of THEIR BUSINESS. They are scum.
